Body weight training

During the pandemic gyms have closed and gym bunnies around the world are a bit lost without their normal fitness routine. You may be lucky enough to have a home gym which is great. If like me you neither have the space or money for this then I will be starting this blog about body weight training. I am a novice at this as I usually train at the gym with a combination of weights and interval training. I will update my progress everyday to see what works and what doesn’t work so well. I would also like to get feedback from you guys from beginners like me to the body weight veterans.

Day 1

Today I have eased myself in I am learning form for certain movements which I think is essential before starting any exercise.

Here is my first routine which I will break down into detail

5 pistol squats (assisted) on each leg

20 pushups

20 crunches

6-8 assisted handstand pushups

Repeat all exercises 5 times over

Exercise breakdown

Pistol squats. So for these if you already squat a lot and have good form then this is a great start. I use my staircase bannister to support myself while squatting on one leg with my other leg stretching out straight as I drop. The bannister will help keep your balance and support you to get that full squat.
